Alterations and Improvements

Maintenance

If you wish to carry out improvements or alterations to your home – such as installing a shower, or putting up a garden shed – then you must seek the Association's prior permission.

All reasonable requests will be considered and advice given on how to proceed. You will only be denied permission if the proposed work is likely to damage or make dangerous your home or that of your neighbours.  In addition, we will require evidence that the alterations comply with any relevant regulations or legislation.

Safety is of paramount concern, particularly if the proposed work is structural, or relates to gas, water pipes or electrical wiring.

At the end of your tenancy, you may be eligible for compensation for certain improvement work, undertaken with our permission. You can obtain further information from us regarding the types of work that may qualify for compensation.
