Allocations

Security

Our Allocations Policy is a points-based system which reflects the needs of applicants.

All housing and transfer applications are assessed, in accordance with our Policy and relevant points are awarded.

Applicants are asked to provide details of which areas they would like to be considered for and are then subsequently queued by the size of property they require.

In addition to this, we also work in partnership with Renfrewshire Council and operate a combined Nomination and Section 5 Referral Protocol.

This allows us to offer a percentage of our available properties to Renfrewshire Council who then nominate suitable households for allocation.

Given our commitment to alleviate homelessness, we also accept homeless household referrals (Section 5 Referrals) from Renfrewshire Council for allocation.

A small number of allocations are also provided annually to specialist organisations, including Renfrewshire Council for Alcohol and Renfrewshire Council Throughcare.

It would be ideal if everyone could be offered the house of their choice. As housing demand is greater than the supply of homes available, however, we have to be as fair as we can with limited resources. A copy of the Allocations Policy is available from our office on request, or can be accessed from our Download Section.
