If you would like further information, or an explanation of any point about your rent (or indeed any other housing matter), call into the office, telephone us, or make an appointment to see your housing officer or our welfare rights officer.

Independent, reputable advice and support may be obtained from:

Shelter Housing Aid Centre, 1st Floor, Suite 2, Breckenridge House, 274 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow Tel: 0808 800 4444. They are generally open from 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm.

We understand how difficult it can be to manage on a low income. Advice Works, 7 Dunlop Crescent, Renfrew (0141 885 1188), may be able to help you with information about rent arrears and other money matters, including:

  • what to do if you are threatened with having your gas or electricity cut off;
  • how to get a rebate on your council tax bill;
  • how to get a grant from the Social Fund to tide you over a difficult period.

The Social Work Department at Kelvin House, River Cart Walk (0141 842 5151) also have a welfare rights officer, available to carry out benefits checks and give advice and assistance on matters relating to benefits, as a whole.
