Residents Conference

WHA Office

Each year we invite residents to join us for our annual conference. This event is held locally and provides you with the opportunity to learn more about what we do, to meet our staff and other agencies that we work with.

The event is free to attend and refreshments are provided.

Register of Interested Parties

We invite those who may be willing to review policies and other relevant documents to register their interest with us. Thereafter, we will issue you with documents and invite your feedback.

This is one way that you can contribute without needing to attend meetings and may be more suitable for residents with young families, or those with other commitments.  All contributions are appreciated.

If you are not already a member of our Register and wish to be included, please contact our office to confirm your interest.

How to Become a Shareholding Member

All residents can become members of the Association for a one-off fee of £1.00. This entitles you to attend our Annual General Meeting and to stand for election to the Management Committee.

Membership application forms are available in the Download Section.

Activities Other Than Housing

In addition to providing quality affordable housing, the Association is also involved in other activities within our communities.

For details of forthcoming activities, please ensure that you check for updates in our Tenant Consultation and Participation Section, or download our schedule of events from our Download Section.

Some examples are:

  • Fun filled Activity Days for children including street games, inflatables and face painting
  • Litter Clean Up campaigns (in conjunction with Clean Renfrewshire)
  • Twilight Basketball provided by the Scottish Sports Futures (in conjunction with the Glasgow Rocks, our local professional basketball team). This sporting activity is delivered where we have identified young people at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour, partiuclarly in areas of high deprivation.  The programme is designed to encourage regular exercise and healthy lifestyles, as well as promoting self-esteem and good citizenship. These issues are tackled in a relaxed and informal way, where in groups young people tackle topics such as addictions, diet, activity levels and the realities of racism, sectarianism and territorialism.
  • Digital Inclusion - Computers have been provided to those residents who qualify, having completed IT training courses at the University of West of Scotland. The Association is keen to promote access for residents to IT training.

Information on all forthcoming activities can be found on our website, in our newsletter, or by contacting our office.

Area Committees

Area Committees, delivered by local housing officers cover all our communities i.e. Paisley North, Paisley East, Renfrew and Johnstone.

These meetings give the opportunity for local residents to discuss and feedback on matters important to them. In addition, they provide the forum for residents to suggest ideas for community events.

All our residents – tenants and owners of factored properties are welcome to attend.

If you would like to find out more, contact your local housing officer or our customer services team.

Alternatively, you can complete and return our Area Committee membership application which is available from our Downloads Section.
